It is a little hard to see, but this is what I saw when I arrived at co-op today--two sets of keys in my purse--mine and Greg's. Panic set in--Hadley had a test at 9 and how would she get to school if Greg had no keys!? By the time we talked to Greg he thought he had found an extra key to the grey van. I started back home just in case it did not work, but then found my cell phone was dead and since gas was at $3.70 a gallon I could not continue if the key Greg had found did work, so I turned back to church.. When I arrived back Greg told me the key had worked and Hadley had arrived at school in time for her test. He told me to relax and enjoy my day.
My husband's attitude and wish for me to have a good day made me feel very ashamed. You see, I know I would not have been so merciful and so understanding if the tables had been turned. I do not handle such situations well and most likely I would have been furious and I would have been mean. My husband was neither furious or mean, but merciful and understanding.

Not a great photo, but then again, it wasn't a great movie. There was some bad language and poor behavior from the "church choir" members. While Christians are not at all perfect, I really hate that viewers may get the idea that these were acceptable Christian behaviors and attitudes.

Tonight our Mission Committee meeting was at Nathan and Becky's. We have been praying for God's guidance in our planning of the fall missions conference and are getting excited about how God is bringing this together.

I have been having lazy, guilty feelings. All three of my children have been going to the gym and working out this week. So this morning I made a date with the treadmill. Mimzy tried to line jump and even though she could stand to lose a little weight, I told her she would need to wait her turn.

While my life is not always easy, I do not wish I was a college student. Hadley was so tired from having stayed up very late preparing for her comminications class speech. Not only was she exhausted, the class ran out of time and she did not even get to present her speech after preparing for it! Here she is napping with Mimzy this evening.

Through the years God has blessed our homeschool with special places and programs that fit perfectly with our studies. When the kids were younger it was Learning Tree Farm and Brukner Nature Center, we visited Frazier Arms Museum several times when studying history and its numerous wars and battles, the Victoria Theater has added greatly to our studies, and this year God's special blessing to us has been the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. I know, Sense and Sensibility is by Austen not Shakespeare, this was just a little side treat. The first play we saw here though was Pride and Prejudice as we studied the works of Jane Austen last year.
This year Angel has led our kids on a trek through several of Shakespeare's plays, and while we have not been able to see a production of all of them here, we have seen Macbeth, Love Labours Lost, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. (A Midsummer Night's Dream being my favorite). We have enjoyed them so very much and it has added greatly to the study. It is a small company and we now view the actors as friends with whom we have enjoyed some memorable times.

These two are so funny. They are such buddies which still continues to surprise me considering how they used to argue so much. Tonight I heard such loud laughter I had to go see what was up. They were playing X-Box and having a great time. Calleigh's interesting footstool made me smile and want to snap a photo.

Today Hadley, Daniel, DiAnn, Mother and I went to Charity's to view some sample wedding invitations. Amazingly enough we all liked the same one. Hopefully we will begin making them during Hadley's spring break.

Today's photo is of the most perfect cinnamon toast in the world. It is a Pioneer Woman recipe. The secret ingredient is vanilla. Combine with a glass of milk or a cup of tea and you have a cozy winter treat!

This is a sight that greets me every morning. A full dirty clothes hamper. Today there is also a basket full of sheets to be washed. (Notice the can of Diet Coke--this much laundry every day requires the consumption of at least one Diet Coke). I do not hate doing laundry at all, it is just that it never stays done! I do try to remind myself to be thankful that we have plenty of clothes, and I am very thankful for my washer and dryer.

Jennifer, LeeAnne, DiAnn, Michelle and I spent the evening working on Hadley and Daniel's "Save the Dates". It took some time to incorporate addresses into their spread sheet and get things organized. Short of a few addresses we need to find, they are ready to go.

This is my first time of almost forgetting to take my photo. I was about to climb in bed when it dawned on me, and Mimzy was available, though practically asleep herself. She frequently sleeps sitting up.

It was the day after Valentine's Day and candy was 50% off. I went to four Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Kroger and Target shopping for goodies for the wedding. This was quite a feat for a non-shopper like me. Hadley had classes all day and could not go with me.
Not pictured are the 30 containers of gumdrop hearts, 15 bags of Hershey chocolate hearts, and even more peanutbutter M&Ms that Daniel and Hadley got after church!

We all had a laid back Valentine's Day this year. We started out the day with cards and gifts from Grandma Gloria, who is in West Virginia. I had fun making Valentine's Day cards in the afternoon. After everyone returned home for the evening we had Chinese from our favorite carry-out, and opened cards and gifts together. The photo is of a few of the bits and pieces from our day.
I couldn't resist adding this photo of the hats I sent to K-LOVE for Scott's mission trip to Afghanastan.

After a busy day at homeschool co-op for me and a hectic day at work for Greg, we relaxed by working this puzzle Greg had gotten for Christmas. It was only 300 pieces so we began after dinner and finished it before bed. It also gave us the opportunity to try out the puzzle board he got for Christmas. It was a fun change of pace.

Sunset of the Sabertooth, tomorrow's book for my co-op class. Should be fun, but won't beat the great time we had studying Afternoon on the Amazon.
February 10, 2012
I needed a cuppa and went to plug in the kettle. I noticed a piece of popcorn perched on the edge of this frame. Sometimes the corn continues to pop even after Hadley has emptied it into the bowl. I guess this one tried to escape! I thought it humorous to find it sitting on the edge like this--what are the chances of it landing this way!

Tonight we attended Hadley's induction to the Phi Theta Kappa chapter of the International Honor Society for Two Year Colleges. Being in this organization will help her receive scholarships when transferring to a four year college. Her 3.94 GPA earned her the invitation.

I had a test done this morning and came home with a terrible headache. I am not sure whether no caffine, no food, or the anesthetic caused the headache, but my comfy pillow and cozy flannel blanket helped me feel a little better. My mother-in-law makes these flannel blankets and I love them and don't know how everyone else lives through winter without them.

What a mess! I don't normally like disorder and chaos, but when I scrapbook, or in this case make cards, I cannot seem to keep from creating a complete mess. Stuff all over the table, my Cuttlebug and stamp pads over on the counter, and you can't even see the papers strewn all over my desk to the right! I did get about seven cards made this afternoon and, for as crazy as it looks, it did not take long to put it all away

Greg found this in the bottom of a basket on his dresser. It is a copy of our engagement photo (1985) that we used for the newspaper. Are we a 1980s couple or what?!

I forgot to post these photos for Monday, and no one can tell me how to insert them where they belong, so I am adding them in at this spot.
I love Antiques Roadshow. It is about the only show I watch, besides football, when it is actually broadcast. (I have no patience for commercials). I try to watch it every Monday. I love seeing the value of the treasures people bring to have appraised. The gentleman who brought in the above pictured sword was so excited. My favorite experts are the Keno brothers.

Isn't it tooo cute! K-LOVE, the Christian radio station we love, has a DJ, Scott, who is going to Afghanastan on a mission trip. He is taking hats to distribute and has asked for hand-knitted contributions. This is my first, it is newborn size (hard to get perspective in this photo). I hope to get a few more done by the February 15 deadline. It was fun and is so tiny and cute.
February 3, 2012
That's right--flip-flops! It is February 3, 2012 and Calleigh is wearing flip-flops. Today's high was in the 50s, and while that is not normally flip-flop weather, I guess she can celebrate these unusually warm temps by breaking out the flip-flops.

Today Calleigh, Mother and I scrapbooked. Calleigh is working on an album of her writing conference from this past summer. It is too cool. She has a great style. Mother finished the project she was working on and ta-da . . . my box containing my 2010 stuff is now empty!!!!! All my photos are in the album. (The journaling is not done yet, but I am still celebrating my empty box!)

Today my friend, DiAnn, and I took a trip to Mason to Archiver's, a wonderful scrapbooking store. We each had a coupon and of course it would be a shame to let them go to waste. We love to save our husbands money!
