View of the snow from our church parking lot.

We went to see The Hobbit after church today.

December 29, 2012

I received this and another in the series for Christmas.  Is it wrong that it is December 29 and I have finished them both?  The other one I have already lent to Mother.  It was an especially fun read as it takes place during a blizzard and I read it the day we got so much snow.  The completion of these two books brings my total of books read for 2012 to 75!

December 28, 2012

Greg and I enjoyed working a puzzle this afternoon.  Riley joined us for the last fifty or so pieces.

December 27, 2012

Digging out after the snow - about 9 inches - spent time praying for Daniel, Calleigh, and Greg's safety while they were out on the roads.

December 26, 2012

SNOW AND LOTS OF IT!  Work called Calleigh and told her not to come in.

Merry Christmas

We exchanged many handmade gifts this yeas.  Calleigh made several of these type of papercrafts for people.

More than an hour or so went by before Riley remembered to look for the pickle.  The gift was The Amazing Spiderman on blue-ray.

Riley and Daniel have commented on how they need finger warmers when playing video games.  Hadley crocheted them each a set.

I received one-third of the glass for my kitchen cabinet.  Hopefully I will get the rest soon!

Hadley crocheted Daniel a minion!  He is so cute !

We were blessed with a wonderful, relaxed, fun and quiet Christmas day.

Christmas Eve

After the Christmas Eve service at Washington Heights, which was lovely, Daniel and Hadley came over for munchies.  We had fun playing our holiday edition of yahtzee.

It was Calleigh's turn to read Luke 2 from Papa Carl's Bible.

Hobbes must not care if "he knows if we've been bad or good"!

December 23, 2012

Custard is a long-time Joyce family tradition and a part of the memories I have of the Joyce family Christmas Eve get-together.  Mother made it at our house and it turned out espeically delicious.

December 22, 2012

Today is our progressive brunch and gift exchange with the Brooks and Syreks.  The snow family are looking forward to it and so are we!

PRESENTS!

It was such a great day--good friends plus good times plus good food add up to good memories!

New jammies!

Completed lego village-one of my favorite holiday things!

December 20, 2012

While building the village pieces from previous years, Riley asked if there might be a new one this year.  I had hoped to wait until everyone was here so all could help build the new addition, but since it is four days until Christmas we decided to go ahead but save the gazebo for Calleigh.

The snowbaby always seems to be in trouble!

I should have taken a photo of my shopping bags because today I am done with all my shopping - including food for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

December 18, 2012

A second box of Christmas Captain Crunch was requested as it is quite a favorite.

Terrible photo -- Victoria is behind the box and Calleigh has already left.  Anyway today we volunteered to assist with a bulk mailing at the Miami Valley Women's Center.  It is always a joy to help out and chat with some of the Godly volunteers.

This is how I feel after several hours of wrapping!

Greg stayed home today after a bad night with reflux.  He took it easy as he and Riley built the lego Christmas town while listening to some of our favorite Christmas radio programs.

December 16, 2012

This Lord's day we attended Washington Heights.  We have enjoyed their Christmas contata the last two years and this year there was an added bonus for us - Hadley.  The contata was beautiful and the message very timely and definitely a blessing for me.

December 15, 2012

Calleigh was as excited as the two snowpeople fighting over the cd.  I actually surprised Calleigh; she did not know Celtic Woman had a new Christmas cd.  Her "old" favorite singer, Maeve, and her "new" favorite singer, Lisa Lambe, sing together on this cd.

December 14, 2012

Cookie Day!  I am not sure if this is the intended purpose of the cookie sheet.

There was much laughter from the kids while frosting the sugar cookies.  It brought back many memories from years past.

It was Victoria and Calleigh's turn to decorate the brownie.   A red, white and blue frosted cookie was not typical for the holidays, but their USA brownie was too cute.

Ready to make peanutbutter balls.

We made peanutbutter balls today, they are probably my favorite Christmas treat.  Jessica joined us for a fun day.  We also made more hard candy-watermelon and a second batch of cinnamon, and Christmas Pecan Crunch.

December 12, 2012

Cinnamon Santas from Esther Price--a seasonal favorite.  They are sharing with their friends Merry the Mouse and Christmas Teddy.

I think this year's postage stamps are beautiful.

December 11, 2012

Tonight was the ladies' of EBC Christmas party at Mrs. Williams's house.  It is a night of fun, fellowship, food, a cookie exchange and the revealing of secret sisters.  This year Beverly and I had each others names.

*An error occurred with today's snow family photo.  The "special thing" was a Dean Martin Christmas CD.

December 10, 2012

We all woke up to this note and went in search of the wandering snow family.  The "someone" who slept late was me.  I had been up until 1:00!

Sure enough, they had gotten into some trouble!

Riley was so excited to see snow!

Riley was disappointed to learn that we only are expecting snow flurries with no accumulation.
