The snow family have the candy making supplies ready!
These photos have been taken over a series of a couple days as we have been very busy making Christmas goodies. Hadley and Mother and I began the marathon by making fruitcake. We use my grandmother's recipe and despite the bad reputation of fruitcake, it is my favorite Christmas treat.
Collectively we have made five batches of hard candy--my mother and my aunt always made this for the holidays. It is a fun, but frequently painful process as it requires handling the candy while it is very hot. We laugh as we work with exclamations of "ouch", "still too hot", and "wow"!
We have also been baking cookies and have made about sixteen dozen so far. I still have not made all of our favorites yet either. The seven of us have probably eaten two dozen, six dozen go to MVWC and the rest will be frozen and later given to neighbors and family and enjoyed by us of course!
