Tonight Greg put these fun and happy flowers on the wall in the sunroom.  Calleigh gave them to me for my birthday.  They match everything in the sunroom perfectly and they make me smile.

Tonight on Antiques Roadshow my favorite guys, the Keno brothers, had a special segment.  I love their enthusiasm and especially how sweet they are to older people.

I am sure we will have more warm days, but today is chilly enough that I am hoping autumn has arrived.  The mantle displays some of my cozy fall favorites.

Words fail to describe the impact this conference had on my heart.  What an amazing weekend! This photo is of Calleigh signing the "this we believe" True Woman Manifesto.  There were two of these and by the end of the conference it was hard to find room to sign.  What an encouragement to know that we are not alone in desiring revival in our hearts, in our churches, and in our country.

September 21, 2012

Well, I may not have been excited about coming to this conference, but God had amazing blessings in store for me!  He is so good and knows what I need to hear from Him (even when I don't always want to hear it).  Besides the inspirational and convicting messages from the incredible speakers, we were blessed with the beautiful music of Kristyn and Keith Getty. Thank you Lord for an amazing conference!

September 20, 2012

Today Calleigh, Hadley, and I, plus several ladies from our church went to Indianapolis to spend the next couple days at the True Woman conference.  While I am looking forward to spending some special time with my girls, I am not too excited about the conference.  Large crowds are not my favorite thing.

PHOTO AT LOGAN'S FROM DANIEL'S CAMERA

September 18, 2012

Yesterday was our first homeschool co-op of this school year.  This year Calleigh is teaching a junior/senior high writing class.  She said her class went well, but that an hour was an awfully long time!

While we were at the flea market this weekend they announced that the PBS show "Market Warriors" had filmed a show there and that it would be on television today.  We had watched "Market Warriors" once or twice and while it is not our favorite, it was especially fun to watch Bob, John, Miller and Kevin try to complete their challenge "in our own backyard".

September 16, 2012

Yesterday Greg, Calleigh, Hadley, Daniel and I went to the huge Springfield Antique Show and Flea Market.  We bought Hadley this English stained-glass window for her birthday.  Mine is going in my sunroom.  I am so excited!

Happy 21st Birthday Sarah!

September 14, 2012

Greg, Riley, Calleigh, Daniel, Hadley, and I saw the new Spiderman tonight.  Loved It!

September 13, 2012

The good news of the day is that I completed Hadley and Daniel's 2011 album . . .

The bad news is the album will not begin to close!

I am sooo not happy.  I did not fill the file pockets, I used very little extra paper or thick embellishments and I did not even use all the pages!  I tried to get it rebound, but this is the largest spiral available.  I will be writing the company and complaining and maybe requesting two additional covers so that I can split it into two volumes.  Very frustrating.  It is to be a birthday gift for Hadley next week.

September 12, 2012

Our new ladies' Bible study class began tonight.  We will be studying Psalms 120-134, the Psalms of Ascent.  A Beth Moore study is always fun and inspirational.

We have found Solo in Hank's crate several times.  Once we even found her curled up asleep.  Hank is not sure he likes her being in his space.

A photo of an outdoor garden stained glass light that Greg made.  He has more patience that I will ever have.

September 9, 2012

We discovered this praying mantis to the left of our front door!  I had not seen one in years and could not believe the size of it.

September 8, 2012

Over the months leading up to Hadley's wedding, my craft desk became a catch-all.  It was covered so thoroughly you could not see the top and so much stuff was crammed underneath it covered the entire area!  While gathering some of Hadley's craft supplies and tools to take to her I noticed how much more space I now had which encouraged me to tackle this area.  I really wish I had taken a before photo to show the difference.  It took me two days to go through everthing and reorganzie and clean.  Now I am anxious to scrapbook!

September 7, 2012

While I was looking through a Country Living magazine I was zapped back in time and to West Virginia!  The photo on the left could be a photo of my grandparents barn and chicken coop.  It all looks just like it did when I was growing-up--they even had an orange and white cat that looked a lot like the one in the photo.  I just could not get over the unbelieveable likeness.

Riley woke up feeling under the weather and requested his favorite "I don't feel very good" breakfast.  Toad in the Hole and peppermint tea.

September 5, 2012

It is September and our Wednesday evening program--Patch the Pirate Club began.  This is a photo of Madi proudly wearing her medal achievement for all the work she completed at last year's club.

September 4, 2012

Riley's first day of 11th grade.  Photos from past "first day of school" shots needed the couch to hold my three students.  Then two years ago we only required the loveseat for Calleigh and Riley.  Now this year only a chair is needed to hold the students in my homeschool.  Where does the time go?  In just two years Riley will be graduated!  I need to concentrate and enjoy the remaining time of our homeschool journey.

September 3, 2012

Lord of the Rings legos!  Calleigh loved the little Frodo and Gandalf.  She and her dad put this little set together this evening.  You are never too old for legos.

September 2, 2012

Our favorite pizza is "Daddy Pizza".  I am going to lobby for a name-change since I think I do at least half the work!  Even though it is Labor Day weekend, the weather is hot, steamy and rainy so instead of cooking out we voted on this yummy treat.

September 1, 2012

I was almost two months behind posting photos for this blog.  I thought about throwing in the towel, but knew I had the photos needed to update it.  So, for the last two days I have worked diligently matching photos and events with the proper dates and needed journaling and getting them all posted.  It is September 1, 2012 at 1:00 and I am caught up on this blog!   YEAH!

Daniel graduating from Fortis College with his EST License.

Daniel received and accepted a job offer with Time Warner Cable the week of their wedding and started the Monday after their honeymoon.  God has amazing timing!

August 30, 2012

For Father's Day the kids bought Greg a ticket to the pre-season Colts v. Bengals game in Indianapolis.  Calleigh bought herself a ticket so she could go too.  They have been looking forward to this for months.

Bengals' Prayer Circle

It was a close and exciting game.

Calleigh's favorite team won, but they both had a great time.

Riley received his theater letter today announcing that he will be playing the part of Drake in their production of Honk.

August 28, 2012

Greg was in West Virginia and Calleigh was in Louisville, so Riley and I spent the evening playing one of our favorite mystery computer games.  He does the hard puzzles and I do the easier ones and the seek and finds.

Get photo of lunch from Mother

I celebrated my 47th birthday with lunch with my kids and Mother at Chili's.  We then spent the afternoon doing some shopping.  That evening Greg and I met Doug and Sharon at Ladder 11 for a yummy dinner.  The weather was so nice we were able to enjoy eating on the patio.

August 26, 2012

A tradition of the Holtrey/Walker get togethers--wiffle ball!  Fierce competition as we always play guys vs. girls.

August 25, 2012

This photo is Hadley's reaction when we showed her that instead of the black ribbon she thought she had put on her guestbook photo album page, she had actually added a line of black halloween bats.  They were vertical instead of horizontal so that she had though it was just a black ribbon.  Doug had even mentioned in his wedding wish to them that he hoped they didn't drive each other "batty" which she thought was odd when she had read it, but now fully understood the pun.

August 24, 2012

AAAHHHH!  The aftermath of a wedding and 10-day vacation all in my dining room and kitchen.  I am not sure where to begin or what is to be done with it all!!!!!

August 23, 2012

Hadley and Daniel waited (well sort of, Daniel did open a couple) until both families could be together to see what goodies they received for wedding presents.  We enjoyed wedding cake, that we had frozen after the wedding, as we thought it would be an appropriate dessert.

They received many wonderful and practical gifts (and 8 crock-pots!).  This Celtic plate from Gary and Joyce Lindsey was one of my favorite presents. There are also words and more detailing that did not show up in this photo.  A  perfect gift from the couple that taught Hadley Scottish Country Dance.

August 22, 2012

Treated myself to a much-needed new purse while shopping on vacation. It has lots of inner pockets which helps me keep things organized.

August 21, 2012

Solo, named after one of the US women's olympic soccer team players, is making herself comfy now that we are back home.  She is such a long cat, she seems all legs!

August 20, 2012

We have to go home tomorrow.  I so hate to leave this lovely and restful place.  A year is too long between visits.

August 19, 2012

Riley captured this shot of the beautiful deer.

August 18, 2012

The weather was chilly and the campfire really felt good.  Notice Calleigh still has the kitten!

August 17, 2012

Our yearly tradition--breakfast at the General Lewis Inn followed by girls' day out.

August 16, 2012

A friendly game of Scrabble turned ugly!

August 15, 2012

A cute, sweet, friendly stray kitten--this cannot end well!

August 14, 2012

Oh no, a stray kitten.  This cannot be a good thing.

Our family believes that one of the r's in R & R must stand for "reading".
